It was the Monday after Christmas, we were packing up the car and getting ready for the long trek to North Carolina (Otto) for the week. The phone rings; it was mom and dad (who left the day before to go up there) calling to tell us they still hadn't made it to the house yet (24 hrs later) because of the amount of snow on the roads. After giving it some thought, a plan was conspired...WE were going to rent a Mule (an all-terrain-vehicle) and tow it all the way up there in order to get to the house. So if we didn't look like the Griswalds before, there was no mistaking it now! The look on Jackson's face when Sutton pulled in the driveway with our toy for the week was priceless! (Santa had come again!) There was NO doubt this WAS going to be an adventure!
After many stops (gas, food, bathroom), we finally made it (8 hrs later). It was around 11:30 that night, so we decided it would be in our best interest to stay in a hotel for the night and start our adventure up the mountain in the morning. Morning came and the kids couldn't wait to go outside! First steps in the ice and snow, both kids ate it...Jackson loving it and Palmer not so much! (First experience with the white stuff!)

The excursion up couldn't have gone any better! The Mule was exactly what we needed and provided lots of entertainment (for both young and old)!
We had such a wonderful time...a Christmas we will always remember...thanks Sassy and Poppy!
