TWO

Palmer is 2!

I cannot believe how fast time is going by! It is times like these that make me stop and remember to capture every moment (good and bad) because in the blink of an eye, these moments will be memories we're looking back on!

It is hard to fathum the growth that has happed in just two years!

Palmer can...
  • get into anything and everything her little heart desires. (Running, climbing, jumping- she has been working on this for a very long time and finally can get a little air under her shoes!) Got to keep up with Big Brother!
  • eat just about anything; loves pizza and ice cream (Who doesn't?)

  • sleep in a "big girl" bed (pictures to come)

  • sing her ABCs out of order but she tries!
  • count to 5
  • recognize the letter "P"
  • attempt the potty...still no success (we'll keep working)!

  • carry on a full conversation now! Here are a few famous phrases:

    "Jackson hurt me! Jackson timeout!"
"Mommy, rock-a-baby." she is such a cuddler, she says this when she wantes me to hold her.

"Palmer tuurn" You can tell she's a 2nd always having to share!

"Palmer self" Miss Independent, doesn't want help from anyone!

We look forward to what you have in store for us in the future! We love you!

A Long Time Coming...

Happy Father's Day!

Since when do we buy our own Mother's Day/ Father's Day gifts?
Hmm...maybe I should reconsider my ipod docking station!?!?

Father's Day weekend, we took the boat out for it's inaugural launch! What fun! The kids had a blast! We boated to Dog Island, fished, cruised, and sand bar hopped! The weather was perfect! We are looking forward to many more adventures on the boat!

Now for a name? Any suggestions?

Mommies' Weekend at the Beach

Don't be fooled... WITH kids- NO Daddies! 3 Mommies, 4 kids (11 weeks- 3 1/2 yrs) and 3 dogs! It was WILD, to say the least! It was quite a sight to see us unload and load all the loot that goes along with a weekend at the beach (with no "man"power)! The weather was wonderful. We spent the whole day on the beach Saturday! The kids had a blast! Thanks Kat and Jenn. for a great weekend and some "girl time"!

Good Times

What a busy Easter weekend; time spent with family, friends and good food! It's times like these that reminds me of how truly blessed we are! Sunday's sermon says it best: Without God in our lives, we have nothing, and in him we have ALL we shall ever need!
Happy Easter!

Our weekend as followed:
Egg Hunt at school with friends.

Making Easter cookies and dying eggs. This was after a second trip to the grocery store because Jackson ate the entire container of sprinkles. Well actually Sutton caught him with a few to spare!

Mmm!

Worth waiting for!

The Easter bunny came with lots of goodies!

Ready for church!

The day ended with a few more egg hunts! Whew!

Thanks Big Papa for the help!

It's Official!

We went to the doctor yesterday and saw our sweet little jelly bean! Everything looks great, and the baby has a great heartbeat! The expected arrival date of the soon-to-be newest Webb is November 4th! We can't wait to meet this little one!

Yesterday, I was dropping Jackson off before going to our Dr. appt, and here was our conversation:

Me: "Jackson, Mommy's going to the doctor."

Jackson: "Why?"

Me: "Daddy and I are going to check on the baby."

Jackson: "Mommy, the baby sick?"

Me: "No, sweet heart, when Mommies have a baby in their tummy, they have go to the doctor a lot to watch the baby grow."

Jackson: "Oh!"

I can't wait to take him to an appointment to see the baby!

I Love Them!

Jackson (3 1/2) is all about "being big"! He is constantly reminding me of how big he is! (according to him, it is because of all the muscle food he eats)
He is loving school and seems to be having more "green days" and less "yellow and red" days! We are thankful for that!
He continues to blow me away with what he is learning in school. He can spell his name and is working on writing it, loves to play the opposite game, has an ear for rhyming words, and the latest... counting backwards from 10!
He is still happiest (and easiest to manage) when outside doing his thing! His most recent hobby outside is collecting the fuzzy caterpillars that seem to be everywhere right now! The sandbox and swing set continue to be top of the entertainment list!
He is on a "boys only" kick...thanks to Daddy!
  • riding in Daddy's truck, is for boys only!
  • yard work, is for boys only!
  • The Giving Tree (bedtime book), is for boys only!
    The list goes on!
***
Palmer (21 mths) is getting sassier by the day, but is such a lover! She is the first to "pucker up" to give anyone a kiss. She will sit in your lap and love on you forever!
She insists on a hairbow (maybe because without one, she can't see)! She seems to be getting more and more attached to her pappy (passi), and nothing makes her more mad then when Jackson comes by and snatches it out of her mouth, which happens quite often.
Her vocabulary is growing with leaps and bounds everyday! However, the "Go away!" is now few and far between.
She is all about naming the body parts; eyes, nose, mouth, ears (and earrings), hair, toes, belly button (especially hers being an outtie), etc.
Her favorite book right now is Goodnight Moon. She loves pointing out the "little mouse" (minny, minny, mouse as she would say) on every page.
She too loves being outside and enjoys holding Jackson's little fuzzy friends (the caterpillars).
She also enjoys school, especially "circle time" when they sing and pull out instruments. (Palmer, Palmer, Palmer's in the middle. Let me see you jump. Let me see you wiggle. Turn around. Now please sit down!)
Jackson and Palmer have become little people with such unique personalities!
I LOVE THEM!

Little Kicks

Jackson had his first "Little Kicks" soccer lesson today. He has been talking about soccer practice forever! Everyday, "Mommy I have soccer today?" His coach is Coach Bev, who was may first soccer coach!
Priceless...Enjoy!

We are still working on "no hand" soccer!

Mommy's Classroom

Hanging out with Mommy in her classroom. The kids loved coloring on chart paper, and the first graders loved their masterpiece!

Goodnight Moon!

This is Palmer's new obsession! She loves reading Goodnight Moon and finding the "teeny, tiny mouse" on each page. Nothing better then a child right out of the tub in footed pjs! I love it!

Progress Report

We received Jackson's first progress report (report card) from school! It is quite humerus!

Here are some "Mastered Skills":
  • "I accept and respond to my teacher's authority."
  • "I am cheerful and happy at school."
  • "Building with blocks" Surprise, surprise!
  • "Puzzles"
  • "Galloping"
  • "Balances on L and R foot"
  • "I know my colors, shapes, and body parts."
  • "I am expanding my vocabulary."
  • "I am a curious child."
  • "I get involved in and attend to activities."
  • " I participate in group singing."
  • "I clean up my messes after my art projects."
  • " I can go to the bathroom by myself."

*We are so proud of all of Jackson's hard work and accomplishments!

Here are some "Working on Skills":

  • "I can follow directions."
  • "I respect and show concern for people and things around me."
  • "Manipulating zippers and buttons."
  • "Hopping on one foot"
  • "I listen quietly to stories."
  • "My attention span is lengthening."
  • "I wait for my turn when speaking in a group."
  • "I make good use of free time."

* I would be curious to see how many boys in his class have a similar list!

I'm amazed everyday, how much Jackson has learned at school this year! He has come so far since the beginning of school! He can rattle off a list of opposites, knows some months of the year (not in order), some letter recognition (especially while driving down the road), all shapes and colors, his birthday (even though he wishes it was in October...don't ask me why!), the city we live in, and most importantly, his imagination now runs WILD!

Whew!

"Sweet Pea"

Palmer came home from school last Friday and said, "Go Away!" to Jackson. In total disbelief, I couldn't believe my ears! I thought, maybe that's just what I thought I heard... The weekend went on, and I heard it again, confirming that yes in deed that's what she said and meant! Now if anyone gets too close or tries to take something from her, she will let you have it, "Go Away!"
Where has my "Sweet Pea" gone?

Pris Pot!

P.J. Day

Last week, Jackson had "Wee Willie Winkie Day" aka P.J. day!
Don't we wish everyday was "Wee Willie Winkie Day"?

Valentine is in the Air!

What a great Valentine's Day we had! We fed and put the kids to bed early, then we cooked and enjoyed our Valentine's meal. I love eating as a family, but it sure was nice having a quiet dinner at home, just the two of us!

To My Valentine (The Love of My Life): Thanks Honey for a delicious meal! I love you!

Daddy's Girl

What is it about a little girl and her Daddy? Palmer is obsessed with Sutton! If she is talking on "her" phone, she's always talking to "Daddee." If she is sad and crying (or gets in trouble), it's "Dadee." The second she hears that diesel truck pull in the driveway, she makes a bee line to the door, "Dadee!" So cute!

Puppy Puppy

Jackson had his pet parade at school. They have been studying pets, and all the responsibilities of taking care of them. Each child was to bring their very "own" pet from home to enter into the parade. Jackson chose Puppy Puppy (He named him that morning.) to be a part of the parade. Puppy Puppy won an award for the Fuzziest! We were so proud of him!

Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy down in my heart...

The Cherub Choir preforms at church on Sunday! How sweet the sound!

Mother of a Boy...

Well I haven't had a chance until now to blog this...

Tuesday after school, the kids and I came home as usual. I was in the kitchen starting dinner, and Jackson wanted to play out back. Fine, he's done this a million times before. I kept peeking out the kitchen window, just to check. He was dragging and stack firewood as if he was building a log cabin (surprise!). No harm done; I let him continue. A few minutes passed and I decided it was time to check-in again. I looked out the window and no Jackson. I figured he was just out of sight from the window. I walked out on the porch and called his name, "Jackson!" "Yes ma'am!" he responded. As I got to the end of the porch, I hear, "I'm up here!" Looking up, I see Jackson on top (yes on top) of his canvas roofed swing set (at least 10 ft up)! I panicked, "Jackson stay right there do not move!" I ran down the stairs, and shimmied up the "crow's nest" (the highest part of the swing set- where Jackson had climbed up.) Mind you, I'm still in work clothes- skirt, tights, and boots. After rescuing Jackson, I think he saw the fear in my eyes, he looked at me and said, "Mommy, I not do dat aden."
*See yellow star below!

I've always heard there's a special place in heaven for a mom of a boy...

Finally we have pictures!

Here are a few of my favorites over the past few months...

And an all time favorite!
